This is post #1000. I have been thinking all day of what to do for this occasion. In the end, all I come up with is to say thanks to everyone who has come by and stayed long enough to read any one of them. It means a tremendous amount to me and any further words would be insufficient.
So, thank you.
(Post title appologies to The Onion)
CONGRATS my friend! Jason and I only wish you the best on ALL your endeavours!
Keep up the good work!!

Desk – Music and Sound Design (by Aaron Trinder Film:Motion:Music)
I have to link to this video, which is wonderful, but mainly so that people will stop sending me the link to this. Watching this much desk porn is a dangerous thing for me. Like tossing a loaded crack pipe into a rehab.
This is an amazing piece on the importances of the ‘Desk’ in our lives. Vignelli’s desk is absolutely amazing in it simplicity.
I am in a very funny place with my home office desk. I feel that it is not what I want to sit at, but I don’t really know what I want to replace it with. So now I am on a search for a new ‘desk’ for myself. This video has given me a lot of great ideas.

One thing I think is a great way to track an open loop, is to carbon copy yourself on an email where you are requesting support on an action item. This puts a copy in your inbox to pull into an @Waiting For folder for tracking, and does not remove it from your sent items.
If you do not have a system for tracking an open loop you are waiting on from someone else, give it a try.

Link: Look Out The Window For Five Minutes
Randy hits the nail on the head for what Patrick Rhone calls a ‘micro-sabbatical’. This is the type of exercise that you can practice multiple times during the day.
I would add that you try to look out a different window each time that you practice this. It will give you a different view of the world around you and allow you to possibly see something that you would not have seen otherwise.

My favorites are 1, 3, 11, 12, and 20.

Some more great thoughts to start the day from my friend, Patrick. He has knocked it out of the park three days in a row.
Patrick always gives us some great nuggets to chew on through our day, and today is no exception.
Thanks, Patrick, for the great insight that you share with all of us every single day.
